Children-Nepal
CHILDREN-Nepal is a nonprofit, non-governmental, social & guaranteed Fair Trade organization established in 1995 that works to promote the rights, welfare, and development of marginalized children living on the margins of society. It works directly with children and their families, helping them to break away from the effects of discrimination based on caste, disability, gender and social status. It has been supporting 1000 children.
CHILDREN-Nepal also runs Suryamukhi Handicrafts and is a registered member of the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO) and Fair Trade Group Nepal (FTGN). Suryamukhi Handicrafts has been striving to empower disadvantaged and low income women by developing their vocational skills in sewing, stitching and embroidery. The women of Suryamukhi Handicrafts have an opportunity to earn a fair wage & improve the quality of life for themselves and their families. This allows them to become socially and economically self-reliant. Suryamukhi Handicrafts offers a variety of textile based handicrafts that are environmentally friendly, high quality and fairly priced including hand puppets, stuffed toys, dolls, bag packs and small bags, aprons, t-shirt and cases, accessories, children’s costumes, decor items and many more.
