Strengthening Skills for Green Entrepreneurship

Fair Trade Group Nepal conducted a five-day Green Entrepreneurship Development Training from 19 to 23 August 2026 for SUSTAIN Project staff from RRN, MIC, FTG Nepal, and KCDC, Mugu District. The training created a practical learning space for staff to strengthen their ability to identify green business opportunities and provide better support to sustainable and inclusive enterprises.

Through group discussions, practical exercises, and interactive sessions, participants explored market and value chain analysis, business planning, financial management, market linkages, enterprise support, coaching, mentoring, and social inclusion. The sessions were designed around practical field situations, allowing participants to connect the learning with the challenges and opportunities they encounter in their work.

Attention was given to supporting women, youth, farmers, producer groups, Dalit communities, and other marginalized groups to develop sustainable livelihoods and employment opportunities.

Participants discussed practical ways to improve enterprise support, strengthen market connections, and encourage business approaches that are both environmentally responsible and socially inclusive.

The sessions were facilitated by Man Bahadur Dhanha Magar, Skills and Enterprise Development Expert, WHH; Govinda Dhakal, Technical Coordinator, WHH; Nir Bahadur BK, External Training Facilitator; and Nagendra Bhatta, Project Coordinator, FT Nepal. Their field experience and practical facilitation helped participants move beyond concepts and focus on how the learning can be applied in their respective working areas.

The training strengthened staff knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to support green and inclusive enterprises.
