New Sadle

New SADLE (New Skill and Development Learning Experiences) is a not-for-profit organization established with the goal to help marginalized and needy people through its various services. The group focuses on those affected by Leprosy, Polio, and other disabilities, however the organization also offers services to women, children, the elderly, and marginalized ethnic groups. Its major objectives are to provide medical support to those affect by disease, provide social services, educational opportunities to underprivileged children, and provide income generating activities for marginalized people. Some of these activities are carried out through one of their three rehabilitation centers, schools, production units, old age homes, day care centers and hospital/clinics.

Around 700 producers/artisans (80% women) are producing Dhaka products. These products include heavy cotton bed linen, table linens, cushion covers, bags & accessories, Batik cards, gift wrapping papers & gift bags, singing bowls, felt products, wool & silk shawls, Pashmina shawls, buttons & Christmas hanging ornaments made out of wood and buffalo bone and horn. New SADLE also promotes organic/non-organic tea, coffee, agroproducts and non-timber forest products.
