WEAN (Women Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal) Multipurpose Co-operative Ltd. was established in 1991 under the Cooperative Act of Government of Nepal, by a group of passionate enterprising women who wanted to support the economic and social empowerment of Nepalese women. Thus, WEAN Multipurpose Cooperative was established as the first organization in Nepal to market merchandise produced by Nepalese women living in urban and rural areas.

The cooperative currently has a total of 280 members from various districts of Nepal. The main objective of WEAN is to help women producers come to the forefront of economic activity by marketing their products and assisting in the sale of their merchandise. Besides marketing, it also conducts regular skill upgrading trainings, counseling and monitoring with relation to all production activities, helping members participate in domestic and international exhibition/trade fairs, marketing handicraft and food products locally and internationally, and provides saving and credit facility to its members. WEAN Cooperative produces a wide range of Nepalese handicrafts & Agro food products.
