Fair Trade Talk Program in FM/ Television
In celebration of this year’s Fair Trade Day, a Fair-Trade talk program was televised and broadcasted on 12 May 2018. The talk program mainly discussed the overall contribution made by Fair Trade in providing employment opportunities to marginalized producers, and its contribution to the national economy as a whole. The program also discussed unaddressed issues by the government related to tax exemption, recognition of Fair trade in government plans and policies and other challenges.
The current and immediate past Chairperson of FTG, Mr. Chitra Bahadur K.C and Mr. Chandra Prasad Kachhipati, respectively, participated in the Television talk program. The current Chairperson and Vice Chairperson, Mr. Sunil Chitrakar, also participated in the FM talk program. The FM talk program was broadcasted by Ujyaalo FM covering the audiences of 5 project districts, also covering Pokhara (Kaski district) through local FM stations. The television program was broadcasted by Sagarmatha Television in its regular program: Ruparantaran.
