Strengthening Partnerships to Create New Opportunities for Green Livelihoods in Barekot Rural Municipality
With technical and financial support from BMZ/WHH, Fair Trade Group Nepal, in partnership with RRN and MIC Nepal, is advancing green enterprise development in Barekot Rural Municipality, Jajarkot through the SUSTAIN Project.
During July 2026, FTG Nepal collaborated and worked with Barekot Rural Municipality and local stakeholders to conduct coordination meetings, present the findings of the green enterprise pre-feasibility assessment, and discuss the establishment of a Business Incubation Center to support local entrepreneurship and sustainable economic development.
The meetings identified priority green enterprise opportunities, strengthened local coordination, and supported a transparent entrepreneur selection process, with priority for women, youth, marginalized communities, and earthquake-affected households. These efforts are helping build sustainable livelihoods and a more resilient local economy.
