Fair Trade Trade Fair
More than 500 visitors covering representatives from line ministries, Embassy, and representative from trade and business community, producer and suppliers, media, development partners, academics, students etc visited the Fair. The Trade Fair was supported by Norec.
Market place included Individual stalls of the members of FTG Nepal and other Fair Trade organizations in Nepal displaying varying handicraft, agro-food based and Non-timber forest based products. This includes varied product categories ranging from scarves, knit items , mithila product, bags, children toys and game, paper crafts, ceramics, felt products, bedcovers, garment items, carpets, handicrafts items, jewelry, home décor items, toys, singing bowls, and different organic food products- tea, spices, honey, wellness products like soaps, oils, incense sticks, candles etc. A joint pavilion displaying the lifestyle products through living concept in home décor of Member Organizations was set up to display. Artisans craftsmanship like carpet weaving, pottery making and dhakiya making was demonstrated to inform about the local craftsmanship and inspire to preserve and promote our culture through entrepreneurship. Crafts Activity Corner allowed visitors especially children and youths to try their hands in various crafts making activities like, throwing wheel to make pala/ diyo, matka, etc., jewelry making and block printing in paper.
