Press Meet on the World Fair Trade Day (WFTD) Celebration was organized by Fair Trade Group Nepal on 2nd June 2022 in Lalitpur. The press meet was organized to provide information on the WFTD Celebration events- Fair Trade Rally and Fair Trade Trade Fair.
This year the WFTD 2022 is celebrated on with the theme "Climate Justice" and Slogan "Let’s do it Fair". FTGN is organizing a Rally on June 4, 2022 (Saturday) coinciding with World Environment Day. The rally is scheduled to begin from Bhrikutimadap at 7:00 AM and conclude at Basantapur Durbar Square and will be joined by over 1,000 individuals from member organizations, partners and stakeholders. This event is also part of FTGN's Silver Jubilee Celebration. Similarly, FTGN is organizing Fair Trade Trade Fair on June 11, 2022 (Saturday) in Yak Palace, Pulchowk, displaying handicrafts, agro food and NTFP products. Over 2,500 visitors are anticipated in the Fair Trade Trade Fair.
The program commenced with welcome remarks from Mr. Sunil Chitrakar, PhD, Chairperson, FTGN, followed by briefing on the press release by Mr. Kamal Narayan Shrestha, Vice Chairperson- FTGN. The Chairperson addressed queries of the participants. The program concluded with Vote of Thanks by Ms. Revita Shrestha, Secretary- FTGN. 40 Participants including media persons from various media houses like eKantipur, Arthiknews, Watchdog Media, Jagaran Media Center, Nepalmat Online, Radio Nepal, Netizen media Pvt. Ltd., Arthik Abhiyan Daily, Arthachautari.com, Aarthikplus.com, arthiksanjal.com, Earth news, Public News Network, etc participated in the press meet. The program was supported by Norec.
