Workshop on Climate Change
Workshop on Climate Change was jointly organized by Fair Trade Group Nepal and CECI Nepal on 15th March 2022. The program was organized with the objective to raise enterprise environmental and climate change awareness through training, workshop and coaching; assistant to assess, implement and validate the company’s environmentally friendly process and practices and help enterprise access resources (e.g. green financing, grants, soft loans or tax privileges) through collaboration and developing synergy with stakeholders.
The workshop was designed in such a way that narrowed down the concept of Climate Change- what it actually stands for and what are its impact at Global, national and enterprise level. The presentation discussed on how the cause and effects of climate change are in a complex web and the smallest neglected environmental phenomenon creates small to large social and economic impacts on all be it small, medium or large enterprises.
The climate and environment related issues and best practices of the FTGN member organizations were shared; this was a learning opportunity for members who were from Handicraft, Agro-food and non-timber forest products (NTFI) sectors.
The workshop helped raise awareness amongst FTGN member organizations and secretariat on climate change, its impacts and their impact on business; discuss on climate change related issues and environmentally friendly processes and practices were identified and discussed on.
The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Deep Prakash Ayadi. 15 Participants from FTG Nepal’s Members and Secretariat and CECI Nepal secretariat participated in the session.
